Amazing quick stop in the city. Got 5L of chilled water at a very affordable price. Staff is very friendly. Would love to try the food that they offer the next time I visit Seattle.

I really am glad I found this place. I didn't look for any groceries but was curious about the hot food section. I tried the spicy teriyaki chicken and it was great. Very flavorful with the right amount of kick - in the range of medium-very spicy but great with plain rice. You also get a small salad with it. Service was very fast although I came very early. I would definitely come back for more!

I have no complaints about Community Grocery. At first, I was a bit put off by the $14 price on the Chicken Teriyaki, however when I got home and opened the box, the portion was huge! Even more than I thought I'd get for $15 after tax. The picture I have is after I had eaten a few bites. The food itself was hot and very delicious. I would recommend this place!

Great menu selection for breakfast lunch and dinner. Lots of convenience items and snacks. I didn’t see any liquor but they sell beer and wine, including bottled wine. Seems like a family owned and operated business, very nice people.

This spot is such a gem in Downtown, honestly, I wish there were more places like it. The food here is some of the best you’ll find in Seattle, and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. The owners and staff are genuinely kind, and you can tell they care about what they serve. I’m so over overpriced restaurants with mediocre food and pretty decor just for the sake of Instagram/Tiktok. This place is the total opposite, they cook with real love, and you can taste it in every bite. They also sell some grocery items, which are a bit on the pricier side, but I’m really here for the teriyaki anyway! I crave their food all the time, and it never disappoints. Definitely worth checking out!

I love this corner store! I work in the area, so I'm in here once or twice a week, and it's phenomenal. The food they make is amazing, I'm constantly shocked at how good it is. I get their teriyaki at least once a week. The prices for their snacks/drinks/other goods are comparable to any downtown corner store, but the staff are so friendly that it's always worth stopping by. Cannot recommend enough!

Don't let looks, name, or location fool you, their food is legit! I've been eating here off and on for over 20 years and have never been disappointed! Vegetable Yakisoba with a side of eggrolls and I've got lunch for at least two days! This isn't steam table food either, you'll be waiting while they cook it fresh!

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it was so good! I got the chicken gyoza combo which came with 4 gyoza and rice and a small salad. My husband got beef teriyaki, which also came with rice and a salad. We also got a side of egg rolls. Everything was really flavorful, a good size portion for the price, food was ready quickly. The man working inside was really nice as well. Definitely worth checking out!

my partner’s honest rating is a 4 for the tofu yakisoba—the dish was just okay. the flavor of char and more sauce was missing, but they definitely don’t skimp on the tofu! in contrast, the chicken teriyaki here is super flavorful. i tried both the spicy and the non-spicy chicken teriyaki, and both have a good balance of sweet and savory. the spicy chicken teriyaki is great for anyone who wants a low heat profile. i asked for no rice since i was going to eat out again later, and the fresh, creamy salad was a nice contrast to the smoky, spiced chicken.

Sept 2025 - Staying at the Kimpton Vintage Hotel on 5th & Seneca before our Sun-Sun Alaska cruise, we decided to chill on Saturday. Nearby $$$+ eateries just isn't our vibe tonight. With hotel staff recommendation, we craved cozy to-go teriyaki at Community Grocery across the street. Friendly, helpful counter staff on Friday 6:15pm. I had the short ribs on brown rice ($1 more) and my friend chose chicken yakisoba noodles (no broccoli). We really are satisfied and glad to have a simple hot meal in our room. Teriyaki beef short ribs had 11 pcs + small cup of add'l teri sauce, the brown rice was fluffy, moist good, the small green salad just enough. My friend enjoyed her yakisoba, too. $17 short ribs plate with wide cold drink choices. Seating inside for the M-F biz lunch crowd, and varied menu of rice plates inc. tofu and prawns. Highly recommend, it hit the dinner "spot" for us travelers. Thanks, CG!
